Oasis of Love and Joy

Oasis of love and joy By Michelle Morris 02/06/2023 Your heart felt cold and arid Away in a turret locked up tight Far away from all the people Where hearts were pummeled into dust But time moves so very slowly When you spend it all alone Sometimes we need a little sunlight To shine into our souls and home Your cold, cold heartache It thawed from her loving touch You felt that sweet moment of truth Spoken in whispers on her breath You came undone by The oasis of love and joy You could feel the love bloom Like flowers in Eden's newness Somewhere it was snowing But here you'd found your Eden Nothing else could matter More than love and freedom Your heart felt warmer and lighter She soothed all your fears She became your favourite person Stopped the flow of tears And time moves so much quicker When you spend it with ones you love You feel like you know Heaven Like you can fly on the wings of doves Your heartache dissipated Replaced by desire from her lover's touch You felt that deep moment of truth When she spoke words of love You came undone by The oasis of love and joy You could feel the love bloom Like flowers in Eden's newness Somewhere it was snowing But here you'd found your Eden Nothing else could matter More than love and freedom You came undone by The oasis of love and joy You could feel the love bloom Like flowers in Eden's newness Somewhere it was snowing But here you'd found your Eden Nothing else could matter More than love and freedom © Michelle Morris, 2023
