Oasis

The world is a battlefield
Only the fittest can survive
The rich in their hunger for more
Trample on the poor forever more.

There are wars
There are rumours of wars
Man's inhumanity to man is everywhere
Man's milk of kindness is nowhere.

In the midst of all these contradictions
In the midst of all these distortions
Hope is not gone
What is done can be undone.

Arise all you men of honour
Arise all you men of goodwill
You need only to know
That we are all created
In the image and likeness of God
Arise and be an oasis
In this sea of perversion.
