O Time, What a Wonder You Are

It is before your very eyes That sons grow to be men While under the same guise Daughters turn into women.   You have seen many births Of tears and nakedness; Even of countless deaths In riches and wretchedness.   You have lived many years From aphelion to perihelion, And witnessed many fears Of the inhabitants of Zion!   Oh, I wonder what you are, I marvel at what you are not. You are not so close nor far, But you are a life I have got!
