Numb

How can you be so blind?
How can you be so dumb?
Not even care?
Become so numb?

Numb to our feelings,
Numb to our heart,
Numb to our pain,
Numb to our family being torn apart?

Family was once
A word that was known
For the comfort it brought-
Being a safety zone.

But now as I cringe,
I walk through the front door
To find that definition
Applies no more.
