Numb

This world is cruel it plays many tricks
It will break your heart like a flip of a switch
You'll think you have found that one, the rythm to your rhyme
No need to hold your breath it will be over before due time
Sometimes ever so subtle, while others quite fierce
You'll be left with a lifeless heart once beating, now pierced
So take heed to my warning this I have learned along the way
Harden your heart against love, is how to survive in the world these days
