Now My Wings Can Soar In the Sky

For years I was beaten far down His words and face always a frown And through it all I asked him why? Now my wings can soar in the sky He said he was sorry to me But it was plain for all to see The track of the tears I did cry Now my wings can soar in the sky He blamed me and my family I know it was him, verily No longer do I need to try Now my wings can soar in the sky It’s taken years to heal my wound To see my life is full of boon And finally, away I fly Now my wings can soar in the sky Written 7-9-2019 Writing Challenge 1 Repeating Refrain Sponsor: Dear Heart

Its so simple but touches deep the reader.. can feel the helplessness when a near one hurts.. difficult to fly away.. till wings get strong

I am so glad that your life has taken an upturn. Sometimes it is a matter of losing 200 pounds. I trust you will never let him back into your life. This poem says it all!

good for you, Jeanne. Some men can be so cruel. It must take courage to finally leave.

First, you even have to acknowledge it's happening...it took a couple of counselors to get me to see it. So glad to be free.
