Now Is the Time

Son,can't you see the hurt in my eyes. The anger in you,I do despise. You look me in the eye, and tell me many lies. You could be,so soft and sweet. Instead you choose, to lie and cheat. If only, you could have had a dad. A better life, you would have had. I know that I'm to blame, because your father, played the game. I know you just can't help but feel the shame. Mother, and father, I could not be. So,Please don't blame, only me. I tried to make, your life the best. Now,it's time, for me to rest. When I'm gone, you will see. The love there was, coming from me. My love for you, will always be. Just open your eyes and try to see. Please don't take, this poem wrong. It's been due,for oh so long. You kids have been , my whole life. The cold shoulders you give, cut like a knife. If you love me,like you say. You'll drop to your knees, and start to pray. So,bye for now,it's time to leave. My hurt, you will now wear,on your sleeve. I'm going to heaven now, don't you see. God, is the only one, that heard my plea. I'll be in heaven, for a long, long, time. Someday again,I'll be with; those kids of mine.
