That sure is a moving and heartfelt write. Loss is always difficult, and for some reason, numpties always say time will heal.

Reading for the third time makes it easy to understand. I would add The fruit falling form the tree does flee.

Dear Charlotte, the sad beauty of this metaphorical gem just takes my breath away. This is an exquisite example of why you are one of my favorite poets on the site. I've revisited your poem several times and find myself lingering with its mournful imagery every time. Your poignant eloquence reaches down to the depths of my heart and soul. Please accept my condolences for your tragic loss. Your poem's stand-alone #1 placement in this contest is so very well-deserved. A fav! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
