November Intrigue--Five Haikus

November Intrigue--Five Haikus

Moss breathes dampness, near
shifting blankets of old leaves.
Beds of lichen thrive.

Both pure and pungent,
the air is soul-enhancing,
gifting faint wood smoke.

On the forest floor,
Princess Pine grows sweetly
in pristine patches.

Old stone foundations
and a gurgling waterfall
capture heavy mist.

Dark reeds cross the marsh
to a long strand of young spruce,
vivid and spritely.

Your poem brought me joy and a little relief from the heat on this balmy summer afternoon. I cannot wait for the Fall season to come around once more... Keep up the great writing, Carol. It was nice to read your wonderful work again, my friend!

Thank you for your words and for reminding me of the poem. It gave me a chance to enjoy the walk to my brother's house again.

Thank you! I'm lucky to be living where I am. I just wrote down things I experienced on a walk to my brother's house.

Carol, Breathing the earthy smells with you. A beautiful glimpse of nature through your eyes this morning while it snows lightly outside my window. Love the idea of grouping these together to form a complete picture. SuZ
