Nothing Mattered

I feared their roar Of anger fuelled by their disgust I feared the roar And left my dreams to nothing more Concealing self in flecks of dust Sweet softness lost beneath stale crust I feared their roar. I saw her smile The lines of life that she has seen I saw her smile And nothing mattered for a while Her granny smile, whatever’s been She doesn’t care what words could mean I saw her smile. Her love is mine No matter what I say or do Her love is mine When tears cascade, she makes it fine And holds my heart to what’s true To see me smile with loving you, Her love is mine.
