Nothing Changes

(They change their sky not there soul those who run across the sea)

And nothing changes
When we try so hard to change,
Back turned to fears,
We run blind
But take them with us all the same,
And nothing changes.
Wearing a smile
To hide a multitude of sins,
They are only gathering dust
And buried deep within,
And nothing changes.
The new haircut
Expensive dress,
Were just covering the pain
You were not ready
To address.
And nothing changes,
Just because we imagine
That it must,
Nothing comes of running
But the wearing of the soul
And breathlessness,
And nothing changes
Except perhaps the need itself
For change.
