Notes of Time

It begins with rhymes of child song
The words live on forever long
And so they hum in a peaceful way
They’re still with me on this quiet day

The Dead, the Beatles, and the Stones
Made the music that moved my bones
Drink and dance, yes, rock and roll
These songs reside in my silent soul

I hear those notes of yesteryears
They move my eyes with muted tears
The prettiest song was her heartbeat
'N to that tune I tap my feet

So as I look down upon my Dear
It’s her music I long to hear
