Note To Grandpa

NOTE TO GRANDPA
by Joan Donnelly Ellis published in Today's Smiles Anthology

Grandpa I heard you and Daddy yelling
And now you don't come down
 And Daddy doesn't smile much
 That's 'cuz you're not around
 We all love you Grandpa
 'Specially Daddy and me
I thank God for you every night
So visit soon and please hurry

Cross my heart I love you Grandpa
 Even when you get cross
I s'pect it must be real hard
To let Daddy be the boss
I know you used to have that job
A long, long. long time ago
But Daddy's all growed up now, Grandpa
And he's my boss you know
But Grandpa just think how funny
 It is going to be
When Daddy can't be boss anymore
'Cuz the new boss will be me

 Love Joseph xoxoxo
PS I heard Mama telling Aunt Barbara that you and Daddy are birds of a feather. What does that mean Grandpa ?

'Will I have feathers when I grow up?' ... Impulse type. You have been published. Oh, what a wonderful feeling that must be. The innocence and love in this is most tender. I enjoyed it ... CayCay
