Not Won By War

Peace cannot be won by war
Nor can victory be achieved
A battle cry's a child's tears
That's what I believe

A bomb, a gun, a fire spreads
Water cannot contain
Burning deep within our hearts
Each death a loss in vain

Stand together weapons withdrawn
Fix the bonds the battle tore
Again we'll learn the hard way
Peace cannot be won by war

I agree with you, Anne. I respect what you are saying. Perhaps we will learn one day to be at peace and your poem will be read again by others who want peace too.
