Not Today

She contemplates the single date
which holds her from the edge

The knife is willing for the killing
but her birth date is soon to come

She couldnt forget, lost was the threat
She dropped her head in defeat

Slips the knife in the drawer
and walks slowly up the stairs

Not tonight not tomorrow
Death shall not walk these halls
