Not So Normal

You see her laughing Sipping her wine A little tipsy. Careless. Free spirit. There she is. Living her adventure. In her own world. She tells you, she is going to do something big. And you got to trust her. Then she talks the night away. Things that perhaps make no sense. She couldn’t care less. And you wonder. She got it hidden, and she won’t tell you. Behind that cynical laughter Is her life that is broken into pieces. She runs from her past through those merry moments But wakes up every night. Because past haunts her. She remembers them dying. Something was wrong. She remembers being unloved. Being left alone. She remembers the violence. The hate she witnessed. She remembers running away only to return to the same hell. And now everything seems to have fallen in place. Everything is perfect now, or so they say. She lives far away. But the voices tell her, she can’t run away. They follow her in the quiet nights. They knock her door in lonely times. And tell her that she’s going to die. You see her drinking another glass of wine. She couldn’t care less. She has got to live her life. Not a lot of time, every hour passes her by Her heart beats fast. What if she never makes it?
