Not So Far Away...

SOLD FOR A COW
lost her family in a split second
raped and beaten because shes not white
innocence lost at birth
married to a man forty years her elder
working till her ankels broke
fingers split at the tips
given food from the pig pen
                               soiled in last weeks secretions
blood dried on her open wounds
feet covered in blisters that are on top of old blisters
being spit on constantly
soaking in semen
tears stained her ripped shirt
yet hope still lies in her broken spirit
mangled hair covers the scares that he leaves behind
teeth falling out from being punched in the mouth
only time is keeping her alive
not by choice but by sacrifice for a better life
                                hears stories of a place
                                that sets her FREE
                                a lost world
THATS HOME TO YOU AND ME
to her this is all she has
little does she know
were fighting back
to bring them home
to our open arms and hearts
                                WE BELIEVE IN ONE NATION
                                ONE GOD ONE UNITY
                                WE BELIEVE IN EACHOTHER
