NOT MY SON

"NOT MY SON" The depth of a mother's love is profound, Alert to every muted or stifled sound. With every heartbeat, a symphony of might, she stands strong as her love ignites. For in a heart that's torn and worn, A mother's love will always adorn, The child she birthed, held dear and near, She says, "No matter the choices, I'm still here." Reclaiming his soul even from death sleep, For the path he's chosen makes her weep. A dream once filled with pride and joy, Now tainted by a dark world so coy. "Not My Son," she whispers deep, At every shadowy moves, her eyes flip; Now clad in armor and eyes pierced cold, Uncharted territories beginning to unfold. Summons courage from depths unknown, To shield her son, till life's seeds are sown. Her love unfurls like a guardian's armor, Defying all odds against life's cruel tremor. "Not My Son," again she whispers deep, Tho the bond shared is stretched from top to tip. Like a lioness fierce, she roars her plea, Against fate's cruelty even when others flee. So she fights for him, with every breath, Against life's trials, she confronts death, For her love knows no boundaries, no end, A mother's love, her son's life, she'll defend.²8 Vick Manuel Poetry {VMP} FORM: Rhymes Copyright ©? 24th November 2023.
