Not Much Glam
As a baby I arrived sweetly, a peanut of a preemie
Winning the struggle for survival the first years of life
My mama was loving and tried hard to be a good wife
At five we ran away down south to live by the sea
She instilled the love of travel deeply inside of me, while
Teaching, encouraging and corralling a willful independence
Road trips and picnics; A simple life feels grateful abundance
I thank you for my integrity, faith of self and lovely smile
From student, fisherman, businesswoman to the artist I am
As provider, lover, friend, sister and aunt ~ I’m not much glam
