Not Like Me

Young people have a reason to be
   Excited by the future they see
      Not like me

Enthusiastic about what they do
   Sincerity shining through
      Like mine used to

Alive with energy day and night
   They stay unfailingly polite
      Not grouchy like me, right...

With the best of intentions I awaken
   By afternoon I see I'm mistaken
      My hope and my faith truly shaken
