Not In Love

Not in love? he asked
Over and over again
There was a silence

Indignant towards her
Not in love? he asked again

Leaning towards her
Over the dinner table
Vacant look on her face
Evident that she meant every word.

Ouch! That must have hurt him. I guess the vacant look conveyed all he needed to hear. Nicely written Hazel!
