Not Even Thanksgiving

Not even thanksgiving my ears are tortured by christmas carols and holiday sounds not even thanksgiving my eyes are sore christmas trees and snowman on lawns in store windows not even thanksgiving christmas cookies in the market decorations preparations all way too soon it would make such a difference if all this fuss was all about Jesus birthday if people were preparing their souls for a holy day its only early mockery.

Veronica, You poem is on target! I could not believe that Christmas commercialization began BEFORE HALLOWEEN!!!! That's just too early. Let us, in America, slow down, get our spirits fine tuned, and feel the peace of living, and know ones soul by feeling and being quiet. (Even if you have to hide in a closet to get away from the noise.... Pray and seek.) Peace will come. I hear your words in these poems. God be with you and bring you peace and respectful love. Lovingly, Dane
