Not by Might nor Power

Not by Might nor Power

Victory is not for the mighty alone,
Nor for those on earthly thrones.
The battle belongs to the Lord above,
Who fights for His children with mercy and love.

Scripture assures us through every trial,
That God walks with us each weary mile.
Through faith in Christ, our hope remains,
For His endless love forever sustains.

A shepherd boy once faced a giant's roar,
Though he had no armor, shield, or sword.
God had led His people from bondage and pain,
And the same faithful God would triumph again.

The giant mocked and cursed with pride,
Confident in strength he could not hide.
Yet David knew what the giant could not see—
The armies of heaven stood in victory.

He came from tending his father's sheep,
Protecting them with courage strong and deep.
From lions and bears God brought him through,
Preparing him for the work he'd do.

The king agreed to let him stand,
A simple shepherd with a sling in hand.
His faith was not in a warrior's power,
But in the God who rules every hour.

The giant scoffed, "Am I a dog today,
That a shepherd boy should come my way?"
But David knew God's Spirit was near,
And where God is present, there is no fear.

Not by might, nor power, nor earthly fame,
But by God's Spirit, victory came.
The Lord went before him, stood by his side,
And the giant fell in all his pride.

The God of angels' armies still reigns today,
Guiding His children along life's way.
He fights for us, protects, and delivers too,
And remains forever faithful and true.

So take His hand and trust Him completely,
Walk with Him humbly, sincerely, and sweetly.
Surrender your heart, let His will empower,
For victory comes—not by might, nor power.
