Not All Is As It Seems

The smell of rain from the window pane
As distant thunder calls
A flash of light, a breath of hope
Everything must fall
Be it heavy drops of sky
Or shadows nightly cast
Be it soon or far from sight
Nothing here shall last

Listen closely, can you hear?
The humble find their voice
The true of heart long set apart
Finally rejoice

Born into a sacred night
Of light, of dark, of dream
Of breath and being as a thought
Not all is as it seems
