Not Again

Did I not give you my vote?
Twelve long years you begged for it
Tales of your bravery the elders recite
Truly in you I thought I saw some light
Theirs; like Esau my brothers traded
Moved by you resilience
It is for you this time around
I headed for the village square
Eight hours’ standing
The sun’s scorching
Brothers’ bashing
Was it all in vain?
Are you too there for the gain?
Oh! Not again
