Nostalgia

Forgotten memories come flooding back A full on downpour. A nostalgic attack Submerged in waters of days gone by Obeying the current. Embracing the ride Familiar fragrances, each way I turn Battles I lost. Bridges I burned Tapping my foot to a tune that I know A beat, I repeated, now, so long ago The lyrics are different, but exactly the same Im hearing the message, not rhyming in vane I toggle the volume, until it’s just right Picking up what I missed, before there was light I have a new view, on all that surrounds I’m armed with more wisdom this time around To myself, I chuckle, at my ignorant bliss And dry a tear for the times that I miss
