Normal People

Nellie was a star,
Only one shining;
Ray of sky light.
Mountaintop experience -
Alas, she was
Lonely at the pinnacle.

Pointed, sharp, stabbing her heart.
Everyone looked up, “Yes, Ma’am.”
Once she made her way down icy paths,
Plowing her way toward the valley;
Leaving for anonymity. No one knew her.
Everyone loved her. She built a home there.

I guess at some point we all want escape. It's so normal to us. " Pointed, sharp, stabbing her heart. Everyone looked up, “Yes, Ma’am.” Once she made her way down icy paths" wow

Good one Kim. Success isnt always what is cracked up to be. At least success as people generally describe it.

It can be lonely at the top. Success is also found among loved ones :) Great to hear from you, Yann!

Interesting way of contrasting loneliness with 'loved-ness.' ~ People who need people
