NONE THE WISER

As I awoke the morning broke
And I was none the wiser.
The church bells rang
The black birds sang
And I was none the wiser.

As I ate the kitchen maid spake
And I was none the wiser.
The troubled breeze
Shook my knees
And I was none the wiser.

Kids played hide and seek behind the trees
And I was none the wiser.
The fire in the stove burned on bright
The house cats as always continued to fight
And I was none the wiser.

The day’s job done without passion or fun
And I was none the wiser.
So I took to the air
On my inner wings fair
And thought about being wiser.

I found a place of simple care
Where peace flowed in through the air
And there I thought about being wiser.
And as I thought
High rain clouds brought
A heavenly dazzling shower.

Which opened the clouded sky of the day
And the thought about being wiser
Was captured and carried away
Its repeating earthly incessant refrain
Of temporal wisdom’s search contained
Into Divine wisdom soaked in pluvial power

A garden complete in itself then revealed
After the thunder and rain’s down pouring yield
And in the full sun of heaven’s love shown
Everything was in a miracle instantly fully known
