None So Blind

Fires dim by distance, blurred,
Words of love torn by the wind
Die by midnight, die unheard.
And I haunt by the window sill,
Bow down towards the frosted earth,
Shattered by slow motion thoughts,
A penny for them, all they're worth?

Sunset on the rooftop, burned
On cold sienna rusted slates,
Split and jagged, what is learned?
In half life indigo twilight hue,
Sworn oaths into the sainted swell
Of angel prayers from up above
For all that separates heaven and hell.

Vision failed in darkness, strained,
Descent into a charcoal black
Where empty feelings still remained.
And I withstand such turbulence,
Prepared to fight for what might be,
And weep for there are none so blind
As they with sight who will not see.
