Nobody Believes Me

Nobody believes me!

We are killing ourselves and each
other everyday.
And no, we don't need a gun.
But, come on, they tell me,
Stop being a party pooper!

No, I won't get on the train of yours.
Anymore than "Old  Sparky."
The train called "Technology Express"
Heading down all nations, ruining
brains, and bodies with no discrimination.
The engineer called WiFi infecting all.

It's not my responsibility to care for you!
that's up to your fascination.
But know please our government acts
without any moral discretion.
Technology effects blood, body and brains.
And~as long as the gov turns a profit,
to hell with us?
We have new toys.! Never a thought that
they harm us.

Googling it, won't say a thing, they
want to hear their cash cow ring
So to our ears the cell phone goes,
Planting tumors row by row.
Some in our breast, and sperm counts are falling.
And what do we do?
Of course, keep calling.

And sadly we ignore family and friends.
A face, a kiss, a warm embrace?
A text is just a text.
It's not a hug, but a curse.
With our eyes going to hell reading
backlit screens.
Even sex, online, with God knows who?
Welcome to the Technological Zoo.

Hi Pangie, the old days were so much better, with no internet no mobile phones, in those bygone days we used to meet up and talk, people seemed more caring in those days, sadly progress has taken all that away.

Yes, yes it has! Since I wrote this which is long ago only one, Getshon stood by, which is fine, i too, have forgotten the other ones)).That is a perfect example of the down side of internet life, people are just keystrokes, it’s easier to brush them out of your life, be ause they are not real to us. This holds true for the hundred of friends that are no more. I prefer people, real phone calls to this techie world. You have to make a huge effort if you wabt people around you, do you know John that people are buried with their cell phones that’s how hook our society is the Internet. You can go through cemetery at night and hear her cell phones ringing. Tell me that’s not crazy.. Pangie

You're right. 'The medium is the message,' as Marshall McLuhan famously stated in 1964... I remember our old TV set acting like a ray gun to capture the attention and the brain of my then 4-year-old son in 1986... Now it's far worse, I think. … Moreover, with value-less individuals such as Zuckerberg at the helm of social media behemoths like Facebook, techno-evil has a glorious future! Hoo-boy! ~ gw

Gershon, I am somewhat annoyed with this poem and may delete it. I am on the same page as you, my friend. Glad you are always an upfront guy, thanks Panagiota.

I think technology is a good thing as long as we don’t let it rule our lives, we must remember how to think for ourselves. It is a wonderful tool if used properly. If it wasn’t for the Internet we wouldn’t be sharing poetry with each other. Just my humble thoughts. John

John and all. Please go to electricsense.com! I got my education there in the proper use of iPads, iPhones, PCs and Androids. It saved my life. Tech is a huge money maker, and will not tell you the dangers involved. Just like the cigarette industry Never did. Thanks for visiting. Appreciate your comments. Give it a whirl, John.

"Technology effects blood, body and brains." Oh, yes! You are preaching to one who sits with two I-pads in her lap for hours at a time playing word games and looking up things on Google. I love it!

Omg...hi electric Sally. Was quite serious. But, Who listens? It's the rare bird who does. My daughter and family have have iPhones in Pong Cases. My iPad is in a Pong case, falling to pieces. I can't touch the iPad without one they don't make them for iPads...anymore. Panagiota

There's a lot of truth in this poem. When technology starts to control our lives we need to take a step back and focus on what's truly important.
