No Winners

There's never a
True winner
When it comes
To War

Even when the
Battles won
Both sides have
Lost much more

Many lives
Have perished
Never to return

They leave behind
Their loved Ones
For them to
Grieve and yearn

But that won't stop
The fighting
The blood shed
That's been spilled

As long as
Their triumphant
Their mission
Is fulfilled

Then at the end
What have
You gained
A blood soaked land
That you have stained

So is it really
Worth the cost
For all the men
That you have lost

Just to gain
The upper hand
And take from them
A piece of land
