No Time Left

when exactly was it
you admitted
your life wasn't going to turn out
like you thought it would?

never again could you look at yourself in the mirror
and see yourself
all the adjustment in the world
couldn't banish the fact
that it didn't turn out
and there was
no
time
left

for
another
go at it.

Now that is a sad situation. I like to think there is always hope, but I get the strong sense this is pretty final. Sometimes we simply make the wrong choices that lead to a dead end. Sad subject - great write. Love, Shar
