No Sign of Rain

The sky offered no sign of rain
No pitter patter songs were heard
It seemed flowers would wait in vain
The sky offered no sign of rain
There was just a dusty refrain
 No nimbostratus were stirred
The sky offered no sign of rain
No pitter patter songs were heard

I am wondering if where you live there is lack of rain. I enjoyed reading this one. Thanks for sharing. Sara K

Hello Joseph, Your poem is hauntingly beautiful. The imagery of a parched landscape waiting in vain is so evocative. Your words capture the essence of longing and the stillness of unmet expectations. It's a powerful piece that is deeply felt. —your work is truly inspiring. - Blessings, Daniel

You long for that soothing melody, especially when you're in a drought. This is so beautifully expressed and presented. My best to you, Joseph. Hugs, Brandy

It's hot and humid where I am as well. Longings for rain perfectly conveyed, Joseph.
