No Prince Charming

I'm sorry for you that it's seemed for me
neglect's the easy way out. I'm sorry,
I wasn't in love when I led you on,
but only wanting it desperately.
I love you too much to still lead you on
believing in either my love or me
and all I can say again and again
Is, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
It's been wrong to hope if I just don't call,
You'll begin to entertain other men,
by your own choice come to think less of me
and act as I would, thinking selfishly,
Cinderella deserves more than a ball,
glass slippers and midnight apology.
