No One Knows I'M Crying

No one knows I'm crying way deep down inside because I keep laughing and smiling so
no one will know.
No one knows I'm crying just to belong, trying to make friends but keeping my distance
never letting my guard down, never really trusting no one to come inside not wanting
to be hurt again.
No one knows I'm crying trying to find a place in my heart to forgive and forget past
mistakes.
No one knows I crying wondering why you had to go and leave me alone.
No one knows I'm crying trying to find the inner peace I need to survive.

I think we all wear a mask of happiness sometimes to keep our selves safe. It is easier to hide the pain than having to share it and feel it more than we already do. I have done the same thing and did so for a long time after my divorce. Sad poem but one I think many people can relate to.
