No One Else But Myself

So many questions weighing heavily on my mind How could I have been so foolish? How could I have been so blind? Allowing my heart to ignore the signs It such a shame that I have got no one else but myself to blame Now that I am falling apart With nothing to show for loving you but a broken heart This situation seems so unreal Still can’t believe I was head over heel loving everything about you Because look at me now, hating the way you make me feel Hating everything you put me through I’m like a bird caught in midflight Frozen under your spotlight Loosing me to you I was comfortable in my skin Until I let you in You got me stressing, second guessing myself Confusing thoughts in my head Wondering was it something I did or said to make you change? I let you break through my defense Didn’t see through your pretense Until your mask became undone Your lies tore us apart It was all an act from the start Now the scene is over The curtains drawn You are gone It is such shame that I have got no one else but myself to blame Now that I am falling apart With nothing to show for loving you but this broken heart
