Sorry, not a poem. i like writing songs too. this is another about a guy trying to get the courage to speak to someone that he sees often in the airport he flys in and out of.
I’m sittin’ here hopin’ that you’ll come along
Been on my mind for so very long
Baby I just have to stare
You are the one
You’re all I care … about
See you from a distance not knowin’ what to say
Missed so many chances it’s why I am this way
Chorus
I can’t go on this way
No more walkin’ away
I’m sayin’ what I have to say
On the chance that you’ll stay
Each time before I wanted more
No more for me to say
I can’t go on this way
No more walkin’ away
Seems I’m on the road most all the time
Be a rich man if for each mile I had a dime
I smile seeing she wants me to say hello
I start and soon her smile says let’s go
Why’d I make it so hard to try to make you mine
I want this conversation to last a whole lifetime
Chorus
I can’t go on this way
No more walkin’ away
I’m sayin’ what I have to say
On the chance that you’ll stay
Each time before I wanted more
No more for me to say
I can’t go on this way
No more walkin’ away
I can’t go on this way
No more walkin’ away
