No More Tears

By Laura Dee

The darkness dances to the dial tone
Echoes call but still she stands alone
You found a toxic place he used to fill
Do you have any idea how much that kills?

The life I had was never real
God, I really hate how bad this feels
So while you're standing by your dated code
Just know that I will never leave this road

Some days I think I'm stuck in a dream
So I find an escape to brighter scenes
I feel the stories I read come to life
To Feel that love, my secret wife

She can't keep hanging on this dial tone
It never fades, she feels so alone
So she breathes in deep and fades to grey
Straying from tears she can't wipe away

These piercing memories will never leave
With Relieving streams of make believe
She makes it through the rest of the day
And hangs up the phone to breathe it away

So hang on to ghosts, She'll leave you alone
Don't pick up the phone, true colors have shown
Just leave her alone to be Laura Dee
And Steady your knees with the man she used to be

Your fabric of lies won't cover the truth
Whatever you do to relive her youth
Just do it alone and send her away
The most you can do is to get out of her way
