No More Contest

No more contests for me
I've never really been competitive
I just wanted you to see
Something other than what's repetitive

You have nothing to prove
Let the world know it

Dear Jerry, Indeed, the contests can foster ill feelings and negative attitudes. If there is a subject that appeals to me, I write from its inspiration. Winning is not important. I had to keep "winning" on my college's speech and debate team to keep my scholarship. It's nice not having to prove something now. Really identify with this write. Best wishes, Carolyn

Thank you Carolyn, for your insight,. I just do not think art should be made to be competitive, like sports, It's seems to me unavailing.

Have not tried any competitions on the site. All poetry is unique to the writer and I don,t think I could write to order. . You have summed it up well Jerry. Your friend Andy

At times contests can be frustrating. It is like presenting your child and someone else can't see how beautiful they are. In the end we have a more intimate understanding and the other person may lack the perspective to truly see past their own limitations. I think it must be the same with God, he loves each of us so passionately an us humans can view his handy work with such disdain.

Perhaps one day he will allow you to see them from his perspective. Thanks for the chuckle!

Thanks Richard, that is a great analogy, but I do believe some folk do have ugly babies, but if it means that much to God, I willing to lie. Lol
