No Longer Useful

Reaching for the star to wish on
That brings back the moments of 
Being someone cherished
And useful.

Finding only a black night
Filled with clouds
Blocking starlight
And the magic wish
Fading into oblivion.

Somewhere in this universe
There is a home
For this longing
For this wish
To be something other than 
No longer useful.
