No Happiness

Happiness eludes us even at close range
The heart and mind seem to wander freely into pain
Pushing away the love, barring the doors tight
Preferring to close the drapes
Keeping out the light.

Whom ever wanders through the corridors,
The maze of life and pain
Will not speak lightly of the souls death
the emptiness that remains
Those who know what it is
to accept happiness and breath
Will have known what it was to
have walked, the edge of death.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Sometimes its easier to slip into that painful state through grief or depression. Grab happiness when you can. Good write. Rob
