No Dice

Yankees couldn’t pull it off Although, of course, they tried. It may take time until our Disappointment will subside. The Tigers played a better game; Their pitching reigned supreme. Yet watching all those chances blown Just made me want to scream. If A-Rod only got a hit One time, with bases loaded, The fans, at home and in the stands, Would likely have exploded. We would have felt amazing joy And pride and downright glee; Unfortunately, this time ‘round That end was not to be. Oh well – next year we’ll try again. Our loyalty runs deep; But meantime, we can all catch up On some much-needed sleep!

Great poem. No Yankee fan knows pain, though like a Chicago Cubs fan.
