No Compromise

can also be sung to the Johnny Cash song 'I walk the line'...............
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For you I’d wash, this heart that’s bleeding through
Because it’s oh, so, tender and so new
Your impact came to me with such surprise
I choose my life- no compromise

I never thought I’d need you in my life
I was alone and thought I could survive
I have a bone that I must pick with you
I promise too -I’ll follow through

I think about you, every night and day it’s true
I only ever really want to be with you
It doesn’t matter if you never realise
I follow you- you are my life

I’m feeling cold, ‘cos now my heart is stone
My hope is torn, right down to the bone
My eyes I pluck, from my sockets to be free
From love inside – that tortures me

For me I’ll flush, this heart that’s bleeding through
Because it’s poisoned, with memories of you
Your face erased, so I won’t recognise
I choose my life- no compromise

Oh, so sad, yet, oh, so well written, David. Your heart is poured over the lines. :(

Hey it is so fun to do poems that we can sing to songs. I love doing that. unfortunately I forgot the bridge for this song. So I think I was off on trying to sing it to myself in one part! Nice seeing you tonight. LUv, Andrea
