Nights of Fog

Against the muffled voice of night
Fluffy fogs rise to diffuse lights.

Bitter soul ravaged my angst
Dwindling my life’s grit…cold, numb
‘Till flicks of street lamp glistened
Strength clears ghastly fog.

Dear Len, my wonderful poet friend, the night fog can be overwhelming but thankfully, “flicks of street lamp glistened” to show the way. It takes faith to trust the light and move through fog… a beautiful poem, my inspiring friend. Congratulations for you win in Nette’s contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

I really felt the mood of this poem. The way you described the fog and the street lamps made the emotions very vivid and real.

Dear Len, You created a superb connection between the external weather and the internal emotional state. The real magic is in the resolution. That moment when the "flicks of street lamp glistened" and the "Strength clears ghastly fog" provides such a potent, hopeful close. It's a wonderful, simple metaphor for finding clarity and resilience in darkness. Fantastic piece. Autumn Blessings, Dear Len, Daniel
