Nights Like This

Moon blooms silver in the sky As nighttime drops its sequined veil So stark against the darkness With dreams that seem so real The topaz tones of twilight Like memories, start to fade A moment to remember That precedes the evening shade The motion of the ocean Is a cradle rocked with time It ebbs and flows before the moon A pool of verse and rhyme The shadow of a stranger Is mysterious as mist That phantom of the evening That lives for nights like this.
