Nightmares of the Heart

These deep, dark secrets are
Always filled with regrets
Never knowing where to turn.
Learning I’m no ones’ concern.

Always forced to see the dark,
Only knowing the darkness of the heart.
I have yet to see the brighter days,
Feeling like my life is all a haze.

The dreams will never let me go
Horror is all they ever show
Scared to rest my head,
Can never forget the horror of the dead.

So few people I can trust,
Always worrying about men’s lust.
Sometimes consider giving in,
It feels like I’ll never win.

Looking for my
Prince Charming
Wanted to be called
His Darling.

I hope and pray someone’s out there
Wishing life would be more fair
Hoping he will rescue me from these evil dreams,
Needing his love to flow down my in streams.
