Nightmares

a deafening scream tore out my heart
that thundering sound it haunts my sleep
the clothes i wore stuck hard with the sweat
All i can feel is my hearts beat
the cold shot through me like lightning
gasping for air i dare not speak
my eyes grow oh so heavy
My aching head my legs feel weak
 running ducking dodging
so fast that i can barely see
my body falls i feel the ground
the damp and dark, it frightens me
The fear is real Im almost gone
i can hear footsteps who could it be
They've found me hiding, what should i do
I sit straight up I've been fast asleep
