Nightmare Waltz

The chilling winter night
 Leaving me frozen in fright
Invisible voices all around
I try to block out the wretched sound
Ghosts and phantoms are out
I have no idea why their roaming about
I try not to notice
They make me lose focus
Lying cold in the snow
Wishing that they would just go
I close my eyes
 Not letting myself be hypnotized
Their elegant dance
Soon puts me in a trance
 Begging me to join in
It's as tempting as sin
We dance and twirl
Watching the world swirl
Wondering if I am just dreaming or
Having a nightmare with no meaning
Wanting to leave this chilling winter night
That has left me frozen in fright
