Nightmare Or Dream
First it seems real, then it's not
She stands anchored in her spot
First excited, then afraid
To this place where she has strayed
Standing in a field of wheat
A dusty trail beneath her feet
Fighting back a sense of dread
From the farmhouse up ahead
A single light to guide her way
Should she approach, or run away
Indecision clouds her mind
To forge ahead, to leave behind
Caught between nightmare and dream
Nothing is as it may seem
Is a fairyland beyond the beam
Or will her muse end with a scream
