Nightmare

I had a nightmare, I will share with you,
these words I write, are forever true.
I was fighting demons one night, they came in my sleep,
yet like real, my soul they come to chain and keep.
I fought with all my power, and might, to no avail,
I just knew that night, I was going to hell.
As I begin to speak, the demons stole my voice,
as I began to fear, I ran without choice.
Lightning began striking, at my feet as I run,
oh, how those demons had fun.
Where the lightning struck, big holes would appear,
if I was to fall in, I would disappear.
My was heart pounding loudly, in my head,
as I ran in fear, I fell outta bed.
In my dream, I fell into a hole, but an Angel, kept me from the fall,
set me behind the bushes over by a wall.
As I squatted down, a bright bolt of lightning across the sky,
how I felt like, I was truly about to die.
As I turned, I seen a chimney in the light,
with names written on it, and I forgot about the fight.
Who’s names are these, I was thinking in my head,
then I awoke from this dream, my heart filled with dread.
As I went to God, I asked him to let me see,
it took years, before the answer came to me.
When the answer finally arrived, after 25 years or so,
I was not ready, back in this dream to go.
When the Spirit spoke, your living that dream now, you see,
as I looked around, those spirits came to be.
I stood up from my table, cried out in agony,
oh dear Lord, let this cup pass over me.
It was to late, I had been for warned, I did not believe,
now, it was my time of darkness to receive.
I ran out to silence, where I yelled out in pain,
as I felt in my heart, I would go insane.
I gave all of myself to the silence, you see,
the one I found in the silence, He rescued me.
Some will never believe in Jesus, even till the end,
just as dreams warn us, what’s around the bend.
To believe or not to believe, it’s left to me and you,
but when you have these nightmares, be careful what you do.
We may think we’re wise, and yet, we are still asleep,
when the darkness plays it’s game, they play to keep!
